grandma's feather bed

It was a happy time, it was a sad time, it was expected, it was a surprise, she was closer than ever, she was further away than ever, it was a pain-free time, it was a painful time, it was a common occurrence, it was an uncommon pain, we were stronger than before, we were weaker than we thought, it was a perfect destination, it was an imperfect journey --

My grandma was one amazing woman. She didn't have a feather bed, but we loved going to her house anyways. I was her after-school-buddy and I would walk to her house during elementary school and we'd drink a coke and eat a snickers. It's funny. I was eating a snickers the other day and drinking a coke and I had this flashback. I could seriously hear my grandma saying "McKinley you'll spoil your dinner!" But never stopping me from eating one. Man I loved her. I would do my homework sitting in her wheelchair and she would either help me or watch Days of Our Lives. She was an amazing woman. If she could have been on any TV show it would have been either a soap opera or Wheel of Fortune. I think if there's any person in the world I would like to be like, it would be my mom and my grandma because they are pure resembles of each other. I think at least once every day I see my grandma in my mother. They are two amazing women. Every day I thank my Lord for blessing me with such amazing mentors in my life. I love them. This verse specifically comes to my mind from my 5th grade Wednesday night class: Beauty in God's Eyes

Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

My grandmother and my mother will always be praised.

Him.

Today was a good day. It started off bad because we had to go to a full day of school and the weather people had been telling us we were supposed to get 7-8 inches of snow so nobody expected to go today. Everything turned out okay though. God works in weird ways, but I'm glad he does. Psalm 18:25 says, "To the faithful you show yourself faithful..." He has definitely showed Himself to me through my life. In school, He has showed me wonderful friends who have taught me so much. He has also taught me that everyone has bad days, and that's why we have such amazing families and friends. Jesus, through our family and friends, gets us through the day. They are our encouragers. They are who we want to see when we're feeling down, or stressed. I am encouraged by them every day of my life and I am so thankful that He has blessed me with such an amazing life. Sometimes I don't tell them enough how much I enjoy and love them and on those days I hope that they are able to tell through my actions. I have heard that actions speak louder than words. I just want everyone in my life to know that, I love you all. I love you all very much and I don't know what I would do without yall. I love You. Thank you for blessing me with an amazing life.
